Have you got an appetite?!
Some exciting things are happening! Recently I have become involved with Appetite
check it out at http://www.appetitestoke.co.uk.
Appetite aims to get the people in Stoke-on-Trent inspired by the arts, through featured artists, events and activities.
There will be lots going on such as the travelling tea room, big picnics and parties!
The most recent event was the Bianco by Nofit State Circus in Hanley park.

Kathy King
Kathy King uses ceramics and printmaking that translates the points of view of women using narratives and humor.
She relates her own personal experience, culture and gender to her work and creates a clever, ironic and sarcastic humor that celebrates the woman.
Her preferred medium is white porcelain with black slip, so when carved into using a technique called 'sgraffito' bold illustrations emerge on the surface to tell her own stories and the stories of other women.
I am keen to explore Sgraffito myself as it combines the two ares I am focusing on for my next project; Ceramics and print making.

Inuit art
Recently I have taken an interest in Inuit art. They are most famous for their stone carvings and prints.
I feel they encapsulate the beauty of the nature surrounding them in the arctic wilderness and the little moments of everyday life.
I feel they encapsulate the beauty of the nature surrounding them in the arctic wilderness and the little moments of everyday life.
Their preferred medium is soapstone as it is soft and easy to carve much like walrus tusk which they used historically.
There is The Narwhal Gallery in London, it is the only British gallery dedicated to Inuit art.
British Ceramic Biennial
I am now volunteering at the Spode factory in Stoke, for the British Ceramics Biennial.
